Studio Iskra Kalcheva is a skilled sound engineer specializing in audio post-production for motion picture. Based in Toronto, Canada, Iskra is currently working as a freelancing sound engineer in Montreal and Toronto areas. She is engaged as a sound editor for various workshops at the National Film Board of Canada (Montreal).

Over the years Iskra has worked and built strong relationships with film directors, composers and artists in music and film industry. Amongst the most prominent are: Kat Baulu, Melisa Forero, Daniel Toussaint, Michelle Sweeney, Amelia McMahon, Chad Linsley, Katie Hampton, Moe Clark, Martine Chapuis, Fanny-Laure Malo, Martin Blais, Rachel Kidd.

Iskra's great passion and love for Foley effects recording, sound design and music recording for film gave her priceless opportunities to express her skills as an experienced sound engineer and also as a foley artist (Playing The Room, 2009). Her latest film projects in collaboration with the Concordia University's Mell Coppenheim School of Cinema have won in the category Best of the Fest films on the Exposed Film Festival held in Montreal, 2009.

Iskra holds a Master’s Degree in Sound Recording from McGill University, Montreal, QC. During her time at McGill, she had the honor to study and collaborate with award-winning engineers and producers such as Wieslaw Woszczyck, Martha DeFrancisco, Peter Cook, Richard King, Steve Epstein, Jeff Wolpert, Geoff Mitchell.

Currently, Iskra welcomes freelance and full time opportunities in the areas sound recording and film post production.
